In terms of the speed of the RAM, it already loses almost 5 times the M2 Max, as well as in terms of the built-in gpu. So even Zen5 has no chance against the M2 Max from 2023. Except in the pure performance of the processor (due to higher consumption at times) and nothing more...
I already wrote - Apple should buy a dying AMD. Apple will get all the x86 patents and a lot of developments in 3D at once. This will allow it to immediately enter the x86 market and finish off Intel.
1) Why would Apple want the x86 patents?
2) Apple doesn't *want* to finish off Intel. They need competitors not to run afoul of antitrust laws.
Intel and M$, Google have consistently violated antitrust laws with the total corruption (and imperialist interest in working with too big to fall) US/EU authorities for decades. What prevents the bosses and beneficiaries of Apple from doing the same, if there is an obvious chance for this?

AMD sure have stole Intel's secret to launch products. It is to announce it first but have no availability except in a few overpriced market-limited models. That way you can launch as soon as the chip is done trial production without even going into mass production. They must have thought to themselves "if Intel could get away with ice lake, why can't we".
