The RTX 4070 is expected to launch in Q2 of this year. The rumor mill claims that the card will use the AD104-250/251 Lovelace GPU with 5,888 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X VRAM. Hardware leaker RedGamingTech has now confirmed previously leaked specs and has revealed apparently real images of the RTX 4070 Founders Edition box.https://www.notebookcheck.net/GeForce-RTX-4070-performance-and-box-images-leak-The-card-could-rock-a-two-slot-design-and-perform-comparably-to-the-RTX-3080.680365.0.html
Annnnnnd cost way more then 3080 - my guess 799?
The 3070 price was $499, US inflation from 2020 to 2022 was 15%, TSMC charges roughly $50 more so the price of 4070 should be $499 * 1,15 + $50 = $624.
If this thing is any more than $550, you might as well buy a 3080.
What does a 3080 cost in your country? In Germany incl. now 19% VAT, it has risen to €800 for a card one would not want (Gainward) or €880 for a reaonable card (Asus, two weeks waiting time). Initial paper MSRP was €699. The prices have always been unacceptable in Europe. Germany does not have a working used market for 3080, either.

Nah, $699, almost the same performance as the 3080 for the same price.
Nvidia: "Best value deal in the whole 40 series lineup! Amazing!"
Now the question is, how would the mobile variants compare, in an identically small power envelope.
