The launch of the Tesla Semi somehow coincides with the passing of the new Inflation Reduction Act that includes up to US$40,000 subsidy for commercial electric trucks. Great. Apparently it's not enough for taxpayers to cover the healthcare costs created by crap like soft drinks which contribute to the obesity and diabetes epidemic, but now we're also helping fund these companies. Awesome job, California. Not to mention I still haven't seen an answer to how to handle the increased load on the grid from all these trucks. Seriously, why the **** are we subsidizing this?
