Why on earth does a gigantic company like this need an online fundraiser?
Don't think of the campaign as a fundraiser, look at it as a pre-order campaign where they make sure they will have at least the amount of preorders to break even in their efforts to bring this to the market.
Also, this is a smaller subsidiary of Philips called Philips Projection, based in Switzerland, that's launching this product. So yes, gigantic company presence, but in this case just a smaller part of that brand name.

They say they use Indigogo as a pre-order method to get into contact with early adopters. They actually guarantee delivery, which is quite unique.
I'm so tempted though, but I don't want to spend this kind of money on a whim.
