Title: Apple iPhone finally receives battery percentage counter within the status bar in iOS 16 Beta 5
Post by: Redaktion on August 09, 2022, 17:52:15
Apple has just released the fifth beta version of iOS 16, likely one of the last beta builds before the release of the iPhone 14 series next month. Also due for distribution to millions of iPhones in September, iOS 16 brings back one of the most missed features from older iPhones before Apple adopted notched displays.

What is this? 10 years to feature "parity"? (Can't really call it parity of course, but you know, something is better than nothing. The battery icon is still totally f*gly)

iPhone has been in catchup mode since 2015. Every feature is basically a retrofit of Android inspired GUI like the feature pull out tabs but they've flipped from the bottom.

The issue isnt the catch up. It's the relentless need to build on such a crap GUI to begin to digs the mess deeper everytime. For instace why is the back button app dependent instead instead of OS driven....

This is why iPhones have such long update cycles. Because theyre a mess needing useability. Unfortunate that marketing has stolen the narrative.
