Title: GeForce RTX 3090 Ti for US$1,499.99 and RTX 3080 for US$799.99: EVGA's RTX 30 Series sale with some "lowest prices ever" leaves gamers with mixed feelings

EVGA has announced a "Back in Stock" sale based on GeForce RTX 30 Series cards. The hardware company is offering RTX 3090 Ti units for US$1,499.99 and RTX 3070 boards from US$579.99. However, it seems gamers in Europe have been locked out of this sale while those who can buy are mostly cynical about some of EVGA's "lowest prices ever".

It's too little too late.  You are months away from next gen.  That next gen might not amount to much since it appears that more performance is mostly coming from more power consumption but it is what it is, next gen.  At that point 3xxx will pretty much be clearance level, which this pricing definitely is NOT.  Even worse, you are paying this high price for cards that are already 2 years into the lifespan of driver support.  So while you aren't told how long that will last, sooner or later drivers stop supporting cards and you've lost 2 years on that span of time, while still paying good money for the cards.
Wait a few months and at least see what the 4xxx series looks like and if you still want a 3xxx card instead, give yourself the satisfaction that the prices will be even lower on 3xxx cards when 4xxx series hit the shelves.

I could not agree more.  You are spot on.  Honestly, after two years of absurdly inflated prices, I am happy to let nVidia partners sit on a mountain of these for a while.
