Apple has unveiled the M2 silicon today at WWDC 2022. The M2 chip features an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU made on an enhanced 2nd gen 5 nm process. The M2 also features 25% more transistors than the M1 and is slated to offer 18% more performance than the M1 at the same power. Apple also compared the M2's CPU performance to the Core i7-1255U and Core i7-1260P demonstrating increased performance and power efficiency.
