Title: Getac S410 Gen 4 laptop review: Simple changes with huge upgrades
Post by: Redaktion on May 19, 2022, 11:00:51
Intel's Tiger Lake-U series has done wonders for consumer laptops and so it's great to finally see the same options available on rugged models designed for enterprise or industrial use.

Are these laptops with ventilation holes everywhere actually rugged, or will they die on the second dusty day in the field?
It seems a MacBook Air is a better "rugged" laptop by not having any moving parts besides the keyboard.

It has IP53 certification. I think it's actually the only Getac laptop currently sold that is not dust tight - that's level 6. Level 5 means that whatever dust gets inside won't affect normal operation. Of course, rugged doesn't mean it doesn't require maintenance. Let's chat after dust gets into that Apple keyboard of yours and it starts malfunctioning. :D
