Post by: Redaktion on May 10, 2022, 14:28:49
The first OLED laptop screen with record high 240Hz screen refresh rate will be made by Samsung and is being showcased at the Display Week 2022 expo in San Jose. Razer already announced that it will be making a laptop with it in the Blade 15 line that will be launched in Q4 and will cost the whopping $3,500.

I hope laptop manufacturers would stop putting 4k displays on laptops.

4k is really just not perceptible on a 13" or 15" laptop compared to QHD. Maybe (and that's a big maybe) on a 17" but still.

The QHD display on the M1 Macbook Air is perfect. PC manufacturers - please stop using 4k! It's overkill and a drain on the battery...

Even the current 2880 x 1600 OLED is an overkill.
Between 2.2K and 2.5K are fine.

This, so much.

On top of that, many panels use weird subpixel arrangements (like pentile) that don't look good when using 1080p resolution instead of 4K. Theoretically, it should look perfectly fine because it's 1/2 the resolution in both dimensions, no stretching or anything. In practice, some panels look bad.
