Title: Racing classic Need For Speed: Underground 2 gets an Unreal Engine 4-powered fan remake
Post by: Redaktion on May 09, 2022, 14:08:07
Youtuber Ivan Novozhilov recently shared WIP footage of 2Unreal4Underground, a complete fan remake of Need For Speed Underground 2. The Unreal 4-powered remake is a massive step up in visual quality from the sixth-gen classic. Beyond visuals, Novozhilov's remake will also attempt to tweak and enhance gameplay elements.

Underground 2 is from 2004 though ;)

I really hope this can be released to the public without much trouble, or at least I hope I can snatch a download before it all goes under haha.

Perhaps releasing it with no obvious references to the original game (as in, no logos or other copyright/trademark stuff) could get the job done? I don't know, this is EA we're talking about lol. I mean, we've seen very, and I mean VERY extensive mods in the shape of full world conversions (GTA United, anyone?) hanging around online for many years.

Perhaps it'll see the day of light as long as the author doesn't try to turn it into a for-profit thing, right?

Does not seem like the creator of this is in the US, where you can sue a company over not having a cup saying hot contents, so it should not be a problem. Europe allows piracy in almost all of it's countries, this seem to not even be in the Union but outside of it, so I am guessing EA won't be able to touch this
