A few days ahead of the official launch, several retailers in Australia stated that the stock for both the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT is "pretty terrible" but at least it is also expected for the launch availability of these cards to differ depending on the region. Sadly, the overall situation does not look great.

Interesting - this is the first time I've personally seen an unambiguous quote from a retailer saying that 3080 stock is terrible (rather than the Nvidia party line that demand is too high), and it's tucked into an article about AMD stock. 🤭
Personally I care less about who has stock now than I do about who will resolve their stock issues first.
There are no stocking problems for the retailers to resolve. As it has been repeated countless times, it is not the retailer's fault. Short supply is linked to the higher-than-normal demand and possibly the limited manufacturing capabilities of the GPU dies. Everyone keeps shooting the messenger.
