Chargeasap made tech headlines when it launched the "world's smallest" 100 and 200W gallium-nitride (GaN) charger via an Indiegogo campaign. The brand claimed that this Omega series can charge a MacBook Pro with a brick about the size of a pack of cards. Can these products live up to their super-powered USPs?

AFAICT from this article, the 100W charger doesn't even come close to 100W? If it only charges 70W, then a charger in that range could definitely be much smaller, in fact mine is smaller with 2 C ports and an A port.
The "180 degree" plug is meant for something heavier to stay on the wall, something that big at a right angle from the wall may come off very easily, especially if the socket is worn, having it flat against the wall brings its center of gravity closer to the wall shortening its arm of force.
So the laptop got 70w maximum measuring at the USB port...
Could you do a measurement at the wall socket to get a reference value for the power draw.
Maybe the brick will draw 100w, but only deliver 70w. Not sure if that is good or bad efficiency, after doing a quick googling it looks like it can swing between 50-90% depending on quality and how close to optimum wattage.

If 70% efficiency is true then it's horrible for a charger at this price, but it would explain why the surface is so hot.

Consider BS adaptor can deliver just 55w, this 70w is pretty amazing for me.
