The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition will have irregular-shaped PCBs, NVIDIA has teased. 12-pin and backwards-compatible connectors are inbound for Ampere cards too, as is the leaked cooler design. The RTX 3090 will have 24 GB of GDDR6X VRAM, while the RTX 3080 must make do with 10 GB of VRAM. There will be no RTX 3080 Ti for the time being, though.

Why the f would you need moar power for the graphics cards?
When you put moar power, this means the performance difference between laptop and desktop cards will be too much to be worth buying.
During the 10 series and 16 series, the performance difference was acceptable for the pros of mobility, but the RTX 20 AND 30 series relies too much on power, resulting in horrific performance in laptops

So you are saying that desktop performance should be held back to what is attainable in a laptop?
Laptops have always been hot and slow compared to similarly priced desktops. It has always been a trade-off between mobility and performance.

Relax, this is a halo product.
