DigiTimes has offered up another vague report, this time about TSMC's development of 2 nm nodes. Reported last year by TechWeb, DigiTimes now claims that "progressing in research and exploratory studies" for after 2 nm, too. Either way, we are not going to be seeing 2 nm chipsets for a while yet.

From the numbers alone one should think that the density increase of 3nm to 2nm is 125%(3^2-2^2-1), but I'm really not counting on it, about half that would seem to be the industry's standard of a full node, so whether or not there's a 1nm node depends on how far they're willing to have their actual density fall behind the numerics.
