Sad to hear what you are going through. All fine on my side, but I still have to try Plants vs Zombies 3. I guess I'll skip it until the final release. ;)
I think I'll just skip it altogether seeing how there seems to be minimal change in the gameplay.
The installations are now back to normal, I think some 3rd party installer that initially bypassed the default package installer was able to properly reset some variable which resolved the issue...

This happened after trying to install it from Google Play???
No, sideloading, right now I could reliably install apks through adb (didn't even bother to install adb before this) but every on-device method is possibly dead. I once got Galaxy Store and Play Store back (but I usually sideload, or for updates let apps push their own) by randomly clearing the data of many system apps, but as I checked different installation methods to see if everything is back, sideloading another app got everything stuck again, also I discovered a separate (though better documented) issue with Play Store that downloads get stuck at 99% and take many minutes to inch to 100% and sometimes the next in queue doesn't start downloading. All apps I bother to update are up to date so I'm in no hurry to confirm though.

Lol, it's so Alpha-stage that it doesn't actually work on most devices! :)
Actually I think it's caused damage. After trying to install this and failing, every app I try to install gets stuck at the same interface so I can't update any app anymore.

Surprisingly...or not? The version available for download can't be installed onto my device, it gets stuck halfway, though it doesn't cause any damage or anything.

Six years since the release of Plants vs Zombies 2 for phones and tablets, Plants vs Zombies 3 is now ready for Android users ready to take it for a spin in a very early stage. A pre-Alpha version has just surfaced on Google Play, but only a limited number of downloads is available — and it looks like the first wave of testers is already full.
