It could be "the refresh of Raven Ridge (2nd gen), on 7nm rather than 12nm". Just scaling it down. After all, it is a more integrated solution, which takes time to create, and Raven Ridge's big issue so far has been heat/power usage, so maybe they are looking for a quick win there without having to insert Zen 2 cores.

There have been major changes in Zen 2, and it's not clear that the current layout will work with an iGPU. That could lead to competitiveness issues if Intel gets its new iGPU out soon.

Pretty much i quess it means no RDNA Navi on the 7nm APU , but just like VEGA Radeon VII - smaller node for iGPU

I think

How can it be a "refresh" of Raven Ridge?

Raven Ridge is 1st Gen Zen architecture on 14nm.
The 2nd Gen is already Zen+ architecture "Zen Picasso APU" on 12nm.
The 3rd Gen will be Zen 2 architecture "Zen Gonzalo APU" on 7nm!

Wccftech is full of crap. Please don't lower yourselves to their level by citing them.

AMD could be launching 7nm Raven Ridge APUs sometime in Q4 2019, according to Wccftech quoting an insider source. Not much is known about the new parts, but it is assumed that 7nm Ryzen APUs will bring improvements in IPC and boost clocks along with increased graphics prowess for the integrated Vega GPU.
