I got the 9SD version of it with the GTX 1660 Ti and I find it's great on the performance side, but it does get hot a little when high demand on cpu/gpu. The screen is just awesome, 144hz is just way bettter than 60hz. The dragon center now has a cool feature than you can charge your battery @ 100%/80%/60% wether you want best mobility/balanced/best battery life, MSI seems to improve greatly on the batteries they put in their laptops lately.The only thing I don't understand, is I get about 5 hours battery life with it (screen @ 45%) but I can barely top 4 hours witth my P65 8RF with similar specs and this with every non essential turned low or off and screen @ 35%.

Mate, LCD is the backlight technology and IPS is the pixel technology. You can have an LCD-IPS or an LCD-TN display, in fact these are the most common ones.

Why does thermals and fan noise differ so much from GS75? It couldn't be. Other notebookcheck article says GS75 with the same 2080 is making 46 dBa noise on idle averge, and the palm rest  temperature is 38 celcius (26 on GS65). Which one is correct?

I'm torn between this updated version of the GE65 and the Razer 15.

I hate the sound of the lack of quality in the chassis but think the black/gold looks better than the Razer green, especially for office/client work.

The MSI also has two M2 slots which is a big advantage.

This new version also has 32gb RAM and 1tb storage compared to the Razer's 16gb and 512gb.

Even ignoring the added difficulty getting to the components to change them, the starting spec would save me from having to upgrade the Razer right from the start. Which is a consideration because of the number of Razers I hear returned (I was also burned in their Raiju Ultimate debacle).

Given the prices are similar, it comes down to this...

Is the performance difference actually noticeable in day to day gaming and work?

And is the chassis that bad/cheap? As in would it always annoy you or be an embarrassment in an office setting?

Would the 240Hz IGZO screen consume less power than the 144Hz one, which isn't IGZO?
