@ Allen Ngo
And just to prove my point, in all the categories below these is not even a signle laptop with H series CPU:

Budget office Laptops

Premium business Laptops

Budget multimedia Laptops

You will only find 2-3 in the multimedia category, the usual suspects (XPS, Apple) but only 1 or 2 will have an affordable price!

Multimedia Laptops

@ Notebookcheck: Can you please create a new category (if you can find any laptops!) such as "Affordable strong workhorses" for all of us (Students, technicians, scientists, programmers, media creators) that want a strong laptop that will not start throttling after 1-2 minutes (U-series CPUs), we don't play games (No expensive GPUs please), and we don't want to spend $4K on a professional workstation. Please?

"...The Radeon RX 540X and 560X, however, are beginning to show their age even for budget gamers".

Apparently, Apple doesn't agree with you by putting the RX 560 on their new flagship $3k-$3.5K Macbook pro 15. And that brings be to my second question: What is wrong with the Laptop industry? Let me explain. 99% of the laptops will either be ultrabooks with U (low watt) CPUs or "Gaming" with H series CPU and expensive GPUs! What about all the productive people who actually want to have a strong laptop but don't care about games like myself?? Other than couple of exceptions (Apple Macbook pro 15, Dell XPS, very expensive exceptions I should add), there are no laptops (or very, very, very limited choice) for us!!! And don't tell about the workstations with professional GPUs and $4k prices. I am talking about strong cheap laptops for work with H series CPUs! Does anybody work out there, or am I the only one??

The new AMD-only laptops will hopefully be cheaper than the Intel and Nvidia GTX 16-powered SKUs already in the market. The Radeon RX 540X and 560X, however, are beginning to show their age even for budget gamers.
