By removing the dreaded Optimus, the laptop isn't bottlenecked by having the display being connected to the Integrated GPU. Apparently, the reviewer thinks that having no optimus is an entirely bad thing, when you can actually have up to 50% gains in fps in some games! The title should be more like: No Optimus? No Problem!

As a non-max-q RTX laptop compared with ROG GL704GW and MSI GE758SF, I will chose this Aorus 15-X9 finally. It's more compact, quiet and cool with better GPU performance. CPU performance and response time of screen are in the middle. And you can get better sd card reader, wireless performance and better SSD at a lower price. Battery life while idling is lower though, due to lack of optimus(Intel gpu deactivated), but while loading are the same.

11 percent smaller, 11 percent lighter, and at least 17 percent faster graphics performance. The Aorus 15 is is the long-awaited update to the aging Aorus X5 series albeit with a few auxiliary features missing.
