Hold on a moment, did the old sheet for the X1Y3 say "Iris Plus 640" Qual Only?

What is Qual Only?

Though, given these models were thermally constrained, it's probably for the best.

Well, Intel said holiday.

We could see Computex revealing, with announcements starting to be made. For the Lenovo parts I read somewhere and you should wait 4-8 weeks on top of the announcement date. On the shelf availability might happen towards the Thanksgiving holiday season I guess?

There's always the possibility its going better than expected and announced timeframe pulled from Christmas to Thanksgiving.

All this is fine. But it's high time the workhorse ThinkPad range switches to 3:2 or at least 16:10 screens. Current CinemaScope ratio is not work friendly at all.

I second that. X1 is the only laptop that checks almost all the boxes for me, but I'll never buy something with 16:9, which I consider ridiculuous.

Is it possible the ramp up of icelake is going better than expected with yields improving more than intel initially thought they would be?

Lenovo could be joining Dell in offering Intel Ice Lake laptops as soon as June this year. Leaked datasheets for the ThinkPad X1 Yoga and ThinkPad X1 Carbon detail the inclusion of Core i5 and Core i7 Ice Lake processor options. The new models are slimmer and the transition to Ice Lake is expected to bring significant benefits to both compute and graphics performance.
