AVOID Chuwi laptops at all costs!
I had purchased in 2017 the lapbook air.
The laptop specs were ok according to the price it asked.
BUT Chuwi has TERRIBLE QUALITY control. Many defective items pass
tests and are sold to unfortunate customers like me.
The laptop had a hardware issue, it is firing BSOD with different error codes that are not associated with driver issues - even a clean install of windows 10 gives BSOD.

Sending to China is not an option as it costs money, and you cannot be sure if the laptop will be 'lost' or not.

Until Chuwi fixes these two things below:
a) improve quality control
b) provide tech support in Europe.

DO NOT BUY their laptops - the same applies to any chinese firm
that follows the same strategy.

I have been left with a 14.1 inch paperweight, and i cannot even find a replacement motherboard to fix it.

Many people like me had issues with Chuwi products. Just visit Chuwi forums. There were cases that people sent laptops to China and wait months and did not get response!

It isn't because it has useless 16:9 display while the MateBook has 3:2.

I love the look and layout of this device, I know its very similar to the Huawei Notebook but that's a good look. So very happy to get a system in that design style.
As expected it is spotting the Intel M series processor with its low power usage which should make the battery last longer. All for $499 is a great deal

I am a writer and most of the time I need a simple system that can help me write on the go, not carry around a massive system that weighs so much that it gives me back pains or is uncomfortable to hold in my hands while walking. I can just get to a cafe and type out a document and not worry about anything.
What I would like to say to chuwi is I hope they add an LTE modem to their devices so I can be truly mobile.

I love thin and light systems and even saying that I realize that that comes at a cost in terms of performance and storage but this system seems to be doing a decent job of giving me just enough performance for the price point so I think it is worth a closer look. So will be getting one

if you want your laptop(new model,not this one) to get much more sales,release a laptop with thunderbolt3 & a good cpu(not M or Y series) with below 400-450$ price. be the cheapest thunderbolt3 laptop while having a good cpu to support it(if you are insisting on using Y series,at least use latest 8100Y which performs around 3rd gen mobile cpu,like i5 3320m or i5 4200U or i3 7100U which is good ,unlike the other atom/M/Y cpus. thanks

Do not buy these laptops. I had a Lapbook 14, great laptop, especially for the price paid. But it had a small inconvenient, the keyboard stopped working, one key at the time (it's not an isolated issue, but a quite common one). Obviously there is no replacement parts, and shipping the laptop to China could end up being pricier than buying a new one.
Basically if you want to buy one as it's a disposable unit you can, but do not expect reliability or support

It's a clone of a clone.....
