For AI having thermal and other cameras can only help, so it can better interact. Hopefully in future versions.
I also wish microsoft include that tech for "vital signs", even if not in this case, its obvious they need one be it for AI, gaming or work. Because those activities depend on each other.

The US Army looks set to take augmented reality headsets into battle with a special variant of the Microsoft HoloLens. The US$450 million contract will see Microsoft bring night vision and other state-of-the-art technology to its headset with a view to giving soldiers the edge o the battlefield.
