How is the keyboard placement a mystery to you? You literally state up earlier that it's for cooling purposes. And it's interesting how you say the performance is worse compared to the MSI GS65, a laptop notorious for throttling. I do not recommend basing your purchase off this review. Reviewers on youtube show an almost 10C temp difference compared to the Razer Blade 15 or Aero, and it is the only ultra thin laptop to be able to stay at 3.9Mhz on load.

To be fair, it is only logical that 6 cores with 3.9Ghz boost get hotter than the previous gen 4 core 3.8Ghz CPU's. I'm not sure we are gonna get anything colder anytime soon, not until some breakthrough in IPC.

Ha, interesting to see that these results contradict those of another review

This video of Dave CLEARLY states the machine is one of the coolest and most thermal controlled thin and light laptops.

Someone is in the wrong here.

Wow this machine is terrible. Loud and hot.  >:D

Extremly frustrating to see, that

a) ASUS is willing to sacrifice an innovative cooling design just to have the slimmest laptop. The last generation was appealing as it was not loud even with a 1080 MaxQ, biggest advantage lost....
b) current generation of Intel CPUs is hot crap. Have yet to see a laptop, that can handle the additional heat, without being much louder or hotter.

After the GX501 that was only mobile to a limited extent in favor of G-Sync, the brand-new GX531 is able to score with Nvidia's Optimus graphics switching. Find out in this extensive review, why the overall evaluation is still worse than for its predecessor.
