i think LG's design team got no guts to do their own design. there is no philosophy, just copycats.

LG seems to have entirely given up on making a proper design. Not only is there a notch, the chin still isn't symmetrical with the top bar hiding the notch. This is about as bad as it gets.

According to reports, the LG V40 may be coming on November 16 with a rectangular notch, tri-rear cameras, two front-facing cameras, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
