I bought one and it arrived last Monday. The fans are a bit loud when blowing hard (there's a special mode where you can make them blow like crazy), the wifi is subpar and the 16GB of RAM are single channel (wtf?), but the 512GB SSD is CRAZY fast, the MX150 is pretty fast, the screen looks nice, the laptop is light and compact... and in general I'm very happy about the performance-size-price ratio.

Doesn't look like either of those ports are Thunderbolt 3, deal-breaker for me.

Not unless it has 12 hour battery life and equally good hardware, no, it's not a competitor to the XPS 13 or any other top ultrabooks.

No we wait for a Ryzen model with black anodizing and no gaymer logo on the lid.

Looks really good, although I would have expected a i5-8259U/i7-8559U better.

The PS42 is notable for carrying the faster '1D10' GeForce MX150 GPU instead of the slower '1D12' variant found on many sub 15-inch Ultrabooks. MSI has priced its 14-inch system to compete with popular 13-inch Ultrabooks like the XPS 13, Spectre 13, or Yoga 920.
