Does anyone else have this issue? My Windows 10 is installed on my Toshiba SSD. 2 days in and I have encountered the blue screen error 3 times. The way to resolve it is to enter the BIOS and rearrange the Boot order. This is rather annoying so I am hoping for a permanent fix as I am enjoying this notebook very much aside from the aforementioned issue.

[ISSUES WITH THE LENOVO Y530]

If you want to buy this laptop think twice because I have severe issues with it.

I bought it on the 28th of october. 10 days later, he wasn't working anymore, had to go to a lenovo shop. The same day, I had to go to another Service Center (in Kuala Lumpur) because my computer wasn't still working.

After 7 days, I got my Y530 back.

13 Days later, it stopped working again. I didn't install weird softwares. Just some of the Adobe Suite and McAfee protection.

My computer is now in a Service Center in Thailand and they asked me to go back to Malaysia to repair it because they don't have what my computer needs. They just format it (again) and change the HD.

That's a joke! I ask for a refund to Lenovo and they're just fooling around and refused to give me one. Maybe I just buy a bad "serie" and this computer can work fine but at the end, if you have any problem with it, it will be really difficult to have an answer. Trust me and I'm not the online one on the web complaining about it.

And the fun thing is that I'm a freelancer so: no computer, no work.

Hope it can help. And if you have any piece of advice to make Lenovo react and have a refund, please let me know.

I purchased the same unit last week and the battery is showing less than 3 hours at full charge and it dies really fast plus i didn't use it for any gaming yet, just normal Microsoft office. Is this a faulty unit or perhaps something to change in the settings?

Hi, recently bought this machine and i am very happy with it, plays the games smoothly the noise isn't of any kind disturbing and over all the price in terms of it's power is very fair.

So, Lenovo forgot to put in the SD card reader, huh? How sloppy. Then again, so is their service.

Would it be possible you could do review of the Lenovo Ideapad 720s 15 w/ gtx 1050 ti max q (i7 model)?

I have the Ideapad 720S 15, but the i5 model.  I'm super happy with it!  I undervolted the CPU and GPU a bit, and it runs cool & quiet without any sort of throttling.  (It throttles a bit if not undervolted)  The screen looks really nice, hits about 85% sRGB gamut, which is way better than the cheap ones that cover only 60%.  The main issue is backlight bleed, mine has some and I've seen many others online complain about it.  In my case I'm lucky because it's just on the bottom edge, and not visible during normal use (Windows 10 taskbar sort of covers it).

@Joe
The Hexacore i7 model has the same 45W TDP so battery life should be similar to the i5 .
Maybe your powerbrick is faulty and I would ask Lenovo to send you another.
I could be wrong but it's very strange that the i7 model has that weird battery issue.

I purchased the hexacore model of this laptop. While I don't have any way to measure the power load, I can testify that at 1080p high settings, Battlefield 1 will drain the battery about 10-15% per hour while plugged in. BF1 is notorious for utilizing both the CPU and GPU near 100%. This suggests that the TDP of the combined processors exceeds the 135Watts provided by the PSU. I'm interested to see if anyone else has the same result, or maybe I just got a defective PSU?

Function over form. Lenovo doubles down on their Y520 with an even more subdued, business-like design and all the latest components. With a Core i5-8300H, GTX 1050 Ti, and NVMe SSD, is the Y530 the new entry-level gaming laptop to own?
