What a shame!!! I would have bought it if it has a 1080p screen option...

Is there any word on if/when this will come to the US? It's been months and I still can't find it here anywhere. Only the new 15 and 15x are available. If anyone knows anything, please share!

It's the perfect all-arounder laptop for professionals who do a mix of gaming, writing/coding, and image editing. We don't have anything else like it here. Everything is either 4k gloss screens or 1080p gaming bricks, with nothing in between except multimedia machines that have crippling thermal issues and weird configuration choices (looking at you, Dell, for refusing to sell us that i5/1050 XPS 15 you offer in Europe). =(

One mistake away from the perfect laptop, indeed. And what a mistake it is!

10hrs of battery life, 6 core CPU, high graphics, 2 x M.2, large keyboard, slick design... I was just one or two clicks away from buying this ultimate notebook, but then I saw the ridiculous screen resolution.
QHD on a 1050ti over a 14" screen, seriously... ::)

They must have put the QHD to "make up" for the exaggerated price (1800€ for a mid-range GTX configuration), but it actually ruins the product in its entirety: drop the QHD to FHD and you'd get better price, better performance, and better battery life. Even at the same price, it would be still worth it. But no, they just do not offer that.

What's worse is that they've done the same mistake on the Aero 15 (for the last two models), but backwards: Full HD over a GTX 1070... when everyone on Gigabyte's social networks was asking for a QHD version that could be easily handled by the 1070 (oh, and they said "yes, the QHD version is coming", but it's not).

In other words, we got the Aero 15 resolution on the Aero 14 system and vice-versa. Outrageously incomprehensible.

This would be a perfect laptop if it didn't ship with a 1440P screen. That's way too small for productivity at 14" and is way, way too many pixels for a poor 1050Ti to handle.  Bump it down to a responsive 1080P IPS screen and knock a few hundred off the price and you'd have a laptop to salivate over.

More CPU power. Gigabyte has refreshed its slim 14-inch laptop with a new six-core processor. Read on for what effect this has on performance, fan noise, temperature and power consumption.
