Purchased a couple weeks ago.  I need the ruggedness for navigating on competitive ocean sailboat races.  I had the predecessor, tab active, been using for a couple seasons. The active 2 runs my sail navigation and routing apps better for sure.  Definitely would have been nice to have more internal storage as the navigation apps use significant space, and take a performance hit when moved to the sd card.  But there is virtually no competition in the rugged, reasonably priced tablet space.  Getting a Panasonic toughbook or similar costs many times more and offers little benefit  above the active or active 2.

Business to Go. It took Samsung almost three years to upgrade the Galaxy Tab Active. As before, it is water- and dust-resistant and should withstand drops fairly well. LTE and support for stylus input made the predecessor very popular with outdoor fans, and our review reveals that Samsung has only improved the Galaxy Tab Active 2 ever so slightly.
