Dieter, I don't think that's quite true.. Asus announced that new 2-in-1s in, what August, and they are still not out!

They actually look great. Not sure what your beef is with convertible devices. They are just like a regular laptop + on top of that you can fold the screen. Nothing is taken out, just added.

Serves them right for refusing to update the UX530 with 8th gen and GTX1050 but putting all their money on those horrible 2-in-1s. The UX530 update if they actually release it will run circles around the sales of any and all 2-in-1s they release. They really ought to know this stuff. Seems like they still haven't figured out where their market share comes from.

Asus is very hard to buy. On paper they release great machines but I dont see them in stores.

Overall laptop shipments are up 6.8 percent quarter-on-quarter for an estimated total of 42.69 million units amongst the top 6 brands. Asus slipped from 4th place to 5th and subsequently lost its spot to Apple.
