Sorry, I do not get it... People pay 969€ per a phone that has 1334 x 750 resolution?

1334 x 750. That is it. The resolution of a 100€ phone. There is no excuse.

Curious that the 7 and 8 have nearly the same display characteristics, but Netflix supports HDR on only the 8. 600 nits isn't bright enough for the LCD HDR spec (1000 nits), but if the 8 can fudge it, why can't the 7?

Also, the 8 Plus got the same battery life as the regular 7? Very curious....The Plusses should be decidedly better.

Thank god this phone still exhibits an LCD Panel. As beautiful as OLED panels make the image appear to be, they are a two steps forward 3 steps backward kind of technology. Why 3 steps back? P, W & M. And that at a mere 240HZ. PWM is known to cause certain physical strains but most importantly, it ruins motionblur thus movements on the display. The lower the refresh rate, the worse this phenomenon gets. If you have a trained eye you'll start to notice the ugly artifacting, especially with the 240HZ OLED's on the Lenovo, Alienware and now Iphone X. OLED displays in my opinion are perfect for stills and photography, but not for films or games. So please don't hail OLED panels as a revolution, it is not. The image is breathtaking, the movement is downward horrible. It is still a flawed panel technology. Refined IPS panels are good enough. The Macbook Pro's and XPS 15 UHD have proven that, this Iphone proves that.

probably not the last ARM powered apple product with an IPS screen. That honor will likely be reserved for the ipod touch 7th gen assuming it's released next year as the release of the 6th gen suggests.

Step by step. We already suspected that Apple would only show a slightly improved version of its smartphone this year. The 8th generation iPhone from Cupertino gets a revised chassis and more performance, which is at least more than in the previous years.
