In the continuing habitual setback for Microsoft in its mobile endeavors, the NYPD will soon be scrapping its 36,000 odd smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1 with iPhones. The department is taking the decision in the wake of Microsoft halting updates for the ill-fated mobile OS.
