And Intel partner briefing held in China has revealed that the performance gains between the 7th gen and 8th gen CPUs are due to the increased number of cores and enlarged L3 memory cashes. The i7 CPUs will feature 6 cores and 12 threads with 12 MB L3, the i5 CPUs will come with 6 cores and 6 threads with 9 MB L3, and the entry-level i3s will only integrate 4 cores and 4 threads with 6 MB L3.
