People should really think twice about buying clevo based notebooks. Everything is great but 4 years from now, clevo (and neither none of their partners) will not have any spare parts, and this is not just about hw, but more importantly, if something happens to your case, you can throw the whole nb away. This has been my experience with P702 from Schenker for almost 4000 EUR. The hinge that holds the LCD cracked and there is no way to repair that. More over, the build quality is just ridiculous, the plastic pieces break very easily, the worst are the sockets holding the screws, they will eventually start falling out of your case.

Hope you get to review the Clevo P950HP6 (15" / 6GB 1060 / 1.9 kg / 55 Wh / US$1250 base msrp) and P950HR (15" / 8GB 1070 Max-Q / 2.0 kg / 55 Wh / US$1450 base msrp). The P950 Chassis quality is better than P650 series is better than N850 series, and cooling capacity sits between the two so pretty decent for the form factor. Would like to see if the max-q really justifies the extra price, especially on a well priced lightweight laptop.

@4004:
Actually the lowest price is US$1,020 atm. There may be even lower offers from other OEMs or retailers. Around one grand isn't too bad for a 2.5kg 1060 laptop wtih 5 hours battery life IMO.

It would've been ok at this starting price with a better case and maybe another 8gb of RAM. But at almost 2k, I'd expect 1070 and 120hz (at least as options).
Like the design tho. You mention elegant design and Alienware in one sentence for some reason, could be a typo?

A breath of fresh air. About 1.5 years ago, we tested the XMG A516 - a powerful high-end notebook from Schenker Technologies that was quite compact for gaming devices in those days, with a height of 2.9 cm (~1.14 in) and 2.5 kg. Now its successor, the XMG A517, shows what it can do in our detailed review.
