It is incredibly stupid, if not malicious. Fortunately, there is a temporary fix -- you simply have to make "MicTray.log" read-only, so that it will stop storing your keystrokes.

HP has slipped what seems to be a 'keylogger' into their pre-installed drivers on their latest laptops, creating an added security vulnerability for their users.
