Gerüchteweise wird das Galaxy S8 das letzte Smartphone von Samsung mit Fingerabdrucksensor. Ein offizieller Samsung-Mitarbeiter soll Pläne zu dessen Abschaffung verraten haben, er sei obsolet. Andere biometrische Verfahren wie Gesichtserkennung dürften den Fingerabdrucksensor langfristig beerben.
