I just tested the idle battery time of the 64whr battery in the gl502vm-ds74 in battery saver power saver mode, and I got about 6 hours 15 minutes before Windows shut it down with 5% left.

Something with this review model is f**ked. The idle wattage is abnormally high.

Several mistakes in this review.

The palm rest is painted plastic, not aluminum. If the reviewer looked at the inside when he opened it up, he would see it's all plastic.

If the reviewer bothered to look at the bios, he would see that this GL502VM DS74 comes with thunderbolt 3.

Also, there is no way a 64whr battery only gives 1:44 of battery life under light loads. Something is running down the battery in the background.
This is the exact same battery in the Skylake GL502VM, so it should see similar battery life, unless the battery is faulty, or again, something in the background is eating the battery.

That is a total disaster for battery run time. Total fail.

Kaby Lake gamer. Asus has refreshed its portable GL502VM series with Kaby Lake and... not much else. Don't expect any tangible benefits in gaming performance or even battery life out of this Xotic PC SKU.
