I find this hard to believe why would AMD agree to this when they can offer the public for the first time an APU that is both hyper threaded and game grade graphics.

Intel's existing license for Nvidia's graphics technology will run out in 2017. It seems that ahead of this deadline Intel has decided to go with licensing AMD's tech instead.
