I had the chance of using this laptop for a couple of minutes today in the office, after a colleague bought it and brought it with him.

It looks really good, the design is very attractive. The keyboard feels great, as well as the touchpad. The display is wonderful, bright, and clear and crispy. I was concerned whether 13.3" are too small for FHD, but it actually feels more comfortable than the FHD 15.6" display on my 5-year old laptop (probably due to being IPS and of better quality in general).

Performance-wise, nothing to complain about.

Regarding the battery, it gives an estimation of 7 hours under Ubuntu after it is fully charged. If you watch youtube videos and browse heavily for some minutes, this estimation drops to 4+ hours (with 50% brightness setting). I would say that one could probably get 5-6 good hours of text editing and writing with some light web browsing during small pauses. This is not that great for an ultrabook, but not bad either.

Interestingly, the speakers are quite decent. They are not very loud and there is not much bass (if any), but the sound is pretty clear. You could definitely enjoy a movie without headphones, or even play some music. I have owned a T430s thinkpad with atrocious speakers.

I did not have any WiFi problems during this small test, the model was fitted with the AC 3160 card. Then again, if there is some concern, one could opt for the AC 8260 card, which costs +10 euros (in the Schenker website at least).

A success. Schenker's S306 is a slim 13.3-inch subnotebook that shouldn't have any problems finding an audience. The S306 is equipped with a beautiful IPS Full-HD display, a good keyboard and it's easy to maintain as well. The battery life could be better, however.
