For the call quality "complaint"...I'm on the T-Mobile H811 variant of the G4 and my calls are crystal clear, either HD or standard.

I'm pretty sure these problems are not due to the quality of the telephone hardware and will most probably be fixed with a future OTA software update.

I stopped reading the article as soon as I came across the statement that the performance in calls was "mediocre". How can a flagship mobile PHONE in 2015 not make and receive decent quality PHONE calls?

Not just a good-looker. LG now offers genuine leather back covers for its premium smartphone, and also uses a lightly curved design for this model. The manufacturer preserves old virtues and optimizes the device in important areas. However, it did not quite manage to eliminate all drawbacks of the precursor.
