Toshiba hasn't updated the Qosmio line in a while, eh?  If anything, seems like they've moved backwards. 
...I bought an X70 almost two years ago (Summer 2013) with an i7-4700MQ, a GTX 770M, 16GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD + 750GB.  Cost $1650 at the time. 

I'd say Toshiba needs to update this line with (at the very least) the 970M.  Using the R9 M265X makes no sense.

I've got no complaints with respect to my X70, though.  It has been very reliable, build quality is rock-solid, and it has been robust and powerful enough for most tasks.

Performance break.  Toshiba's multimedia notebook Qosmio X70 is available for 1,300 Euros. For that money you get a lot of processing performance, but there is not enough GPU power for gaming and fast SSD storage would be good for the system as well.
