Just purchased a refurbished model and found your assessment to be great. Fair and analytical with detailed info. Thank you. I'm very happy with my first Chromebook and it's ports make it 'punch above its weight'.

Why are you writing about a laptop in Spring 2014 that came out long ago?

This is disappointing. When the Acer C710 came out, it came with a 320 GB HDD that reviews lamented about. However...it is still the only Chromebook that one can 'tinker' with enjoyably.
Your review is just like all the other ones. Why can we not have more 'tinker-able' computing devices? Maybe it would encourage the future generations to learn more about computing et al? Maybe it would actually help girls/women feel a little more empowered if they can 'tinker' with something that is affordable?
Maybe we could actually build more products like the Acer C710, and help the new/next generation learn that there is more than just being locked into 'one' thing, be it an OS, a brand, etc. Creating a divergent and competitive field of real world products that can help societies grow.

Maybe Notebookcheck could even start reviewing stuff like the SOLaptops http://solaptop.com/en/products/laptops/   ...real products that are smart, AND affordable.

Thank you for your consideration. Sorry for ranting.

Chrome is in. Despite its limited scope and continuing overlap with tablets and smartphones, the Chromebook is looking to stay and stand its ground. We take a closer look at the 11.6-inch Samsung Series 3 Chromebook equipped with the same processor as the Nexus 10. Can you go wrong with a $250 laptop?
