Also, must note, when after 300 circles of charging and discharging that the battery capacity will drop to less than an 80% of original, so, the runnable time will be shorter. Moreover, the battery is non-interchangeable.

Model | Weight | battery | GPS | HDMI-out | Processor
---- Toshiba Encore WT8/VT484,
445g, 2-cell 20Whr, GPS (BCM4752 GNSS chips), HDMI-out yes, z3740.
---- Acer Iconia W4-820,
430g, 2-cell 18Whr, no GPS, HDMI-out yes, z3740.
---- Dell Venue 8 Pro,
395g, no list (claiming up to 10 hours), no GPS, no HDMI-out, z3740d (cheaper).
---- Lenovo MiiX II 8,
350g, 1-cell (no list the battery capacity, Powermark tested 6 hours 38 minutes), GPS yes, no HDMI-out, z3740.

Acer W4-820 is yet no sales, the spec is based Acer's current Japanese webpage, if Acer W4-820 is finally the sales version no GPS to be unluckily.

Toshiba Encore WT8 (64GB)/VT484 provides GPS and HDMI-out, the battery is 20Wh, claiming the battery life up to 14.1 hrs, or 10 hrs User scenario (65% Web / 10% Video Playback / 25% Standby), or 11 hrs by The JEITA Battery Run Time Measurement Method.
Seemingly Toshiba Encore WT8/Vt484 is slight heavier 90g than Lenovo MiiX II 8", that is actually with larger battery as well as metal parts.

Nov 26 2013, Japanese Lenovo announced the Miix II 8" WIndows slate starts sales, the sales version is no HDMI-out, but provides GPS. Pricing Lenovo Miix II 8" slate is the same with Dell Venue 8 Pro.

Lenovo is no list the battery spec of the Miix II 8", just claiming up to "10 hours" of the battery life, NOR any Measurement Criterion referenced. NOTE, currently US Lenovo written the battery life up to "7 hours", not "10 hours", so what is real? Lenovo?

Now, Powermark tested of the Miix II 8" slate's battery life is actually 6 hours 38 minutes, far not enough 10 hours.

Da würd ich eher den Dell nehmen der mir noch optional einen Stift bietet ... Allerdings seh ich ein dass man mit dem Preis nicht wirklich viel tiefer gehen kann.

HFFS display

Advanced fringe field switching (AFFS)
Hydis introduced a high-transmittance evolution of the AFFS display, called HFFS (FFS+).
Hydis introduced AFFS+ with improved outdoor readability in 2007. AFFS panels are mostly utilized in the cockpits of latest commercial aircraft displays.
-----------------------------
Wikipedia,
Known as fringe field switching (FFS) until 2003,[33] advanced fringe field switching is similar to IPS or S-IPS offering superior performance and color gamut with high luminosity. AFFS was developed by Hydis Technologies Co., Ltd, Korea (formally Hyundai Electronics, LCD Task Force).[34]

AFFS-applied notebook applications minimize color distortion while maintaining a wider viewing angle for a professional display. Color shift and deviation caused by light leakage is corrected by optimizing the white gamut which also enhances white/gray reproduction.

In 2004, Hydis Technologies Co., Ltd licensed AFFS to Japan's Hitachi Displays. Hitachi is using AFFS to manufacture high-end panels. In 2006, HYDIS licensed AFFS to Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices Corporation.
Shortly thereafter, Hydis introduced a high-transmittance evolution of the AFFS display, called HFFS (FFS+).

Toshiba WT8 64GB/VT484 provides GPS and HDMI-out, (non A-GPS),
Toshiba site has WT8 pdf file downloadable, the document expressly listed the "Sensors and Location" as following,
3-axis accelerometer
Ambient light sensor
Digital compass
Haptics
GPS
Gyroscope

Also, Toshiba WT8 is another model VT484 in Japan, Japanese version document did the same explication about the GPS.
But, US and Japan Toshiba's WT8/VT484 webpages confused people brains, did not show out GPS! UK and Germanic Toshiba's webpages correctly listed up GPS.

Toshiba 64GB WT8/VT484 GPS is employing Broadcom BCM4752 GNSS chips, support for the GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and SBAS constellations.

do not make sure about GPS in the 32GB WT8/VT484 now.
But, whether or no, the 32GB of Windows slate is not a well choice.

For higher mobility of the 8-inch slates are more likely used to outdoors and travel purpose, well then the GPS and HDMI-out are more necessary, it is basic requirements for US $399 to buy this slate (64GB).
