One drawback of the proprietary PCIE SSDs is that it is difficult to have them replaced. My UX301 la had one of the SSDs fail. An authorized repair facility in the US could not get a replacement during the three weeks that I was in the US (and trying to get it repaired before I left overseas again).

The review says "The sRGB color space is narrowly missed..." but the diagram shows a more significant deviation; how come?
I have the Zenbook UX32VD which I mainly chose over similar products for its IPS matte screen with almost thoroughly covers the sRGB color space. This was only after I read its review on this site. I find the UX301 aesthetically very pleasing with its dark blue finish. Unfortunaterly the screen does not meet my criterion: it is glossy and its sRGB coverage is subpar. Otherwise, it is a great portable ultrabook.

The first 2 things that ultrabook buyers look at is battery life and weight. Why build such a fantastic machine with a mediocre battery performance? As much as I hate Apple, I have to go for the MacBook Air.

Very attractive laptop. I'm looking for best quality and portability in 13" size. And best options I see now are zenbook ux301 or macbook retina 13". But it's like impossible to find the zenbook in a store in Denmark to touch it and see if it matches apple standards, while the macbook looks really good and easy to find. I would really like to stay away from Apple shitty ecosystem or MacOS and buy a Windows PC, but looks like there is no way around it. I'm not willing to take the risk without seeing the machine, not for this kind of price.

Thanks for the review. All the feedback I read on this machine are really good.... so why the hell is this machine not more tested/advertised and available than that!! I would like to see it in a store to get a feel of it for myself, but it seems to be mission impossible! >:(

Why do you keep referring to Macbook Air as the benchmark when Sony Vaio Pro 13 delivers much more (FullHD IPS touchscreen) in just 2.7W according to your own tests? Now, Sony could have made it weight as much as the MacBook Air and have 14h runtime, but they left that as an option for their customers with their sheet battery. And I applaud them for that.

A shane you dont mention the Acer Aspire 7 un the competition - a slightly more intelligent choise, in my view (altough perhaps not as good looking).

As you mention that,
Pro
+   Great connectivity options
But why rating is ...???
Connectivity   68%

Hi,

this seems like an inappropriate translation of the original word "Ausstattung" in the german article. This was rather intended to refer to the high-grade hardware components and not the connectivity.
