CATL had a battery breakthrough or soemthing.

It isn't really a breakthrough, a majority of batteries in general way outperform their warranties. Just many are being cautious before data was out. Not to mention many chemistries have much longer battery lifespan but due to lack of energy density or higher cost or other factor seen little market. But with incremental improvements they become more viable

Otherwise, take lithium ion chemistry LTO. It can easily last 50+ years and be fully recharged in 5-10 minutes. But it is less energy dense than other chemistries and more expensive, thus not used much
