I can only imagine they made this larger display 1440p while the smaller, 27" version is 4k in order to keep the cost down, but that's rather disappointing. I'm not even typically one to care much about that, but I have to say the occasional screen door effect I see on my 1440p 32" monitor is distracting and makes me not want to go that route again. What I'd really like to see is 34-36" 4k monitors, but prices need to come down more first.

The 34R83Q is one of two gaming monitors that TCL has presented. Sporting a 1440p and 170 Hz panel, the TCL 34R83Q also integrates AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies, along with a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification.
