What are the problems for x86 now? The cores are suffocating with slow RAM. All rewarding layers of caches (crutches) are useless.

But fast memory in slots is impossible without radical improvements in technology.

All that remains is to solder it. But it is not the idiotic dual-channel DDR5 that needs to be soldered, but HBM3+ memory with a 512+ bit bus. With a throughput starting from 300GB/s. Real 300, not declared.

Then x86 will have a second wind. Without fast RAM, the x86 platform is already practically dead - further expansion of cores is useless.

And it's time to switch to peripheral optics for high-speed devices. This will solve the problem of too short copper cables at once.

There are a lot of problems, including cracking cases. There are specialized threads on the forums. I read them.

As a former owner of the T series, I am also dissatisfied with the quality of this series. And as the owners of the new T series write, they have become even worse...

In fact, the E series killed itself with the idiotic USB-C power plug sticking out to the left. And all corner adapters for USB-C are extremely unreliable. If the power supply was via a classic, durable round and angled plug, or if there was power via USB-C on the left, right and back, then sales of the series would have grown much higher, expanding the target audience.

But overall, all good laptops are the same. Normal upgrade inside - 2 slots, 2 M.2. A complete set of modern ports in a convenient location. Mandatory RJ45 from 5Gbps. A good 4K@120Hz screen with a native contrast of at least 1500:1 and a high-quality tactile keyboard (for long-term typing and work) with a classic numpad - with a key travel of at least 1.8mm with elastic feedback.

There are very few such models on the market. And Lenovo E series is clearly not one of them for a long time. I see how these models have been collecting dust on the shelves for a long time - interest in them has been lost, just like in the T series.

And the most idiotic Lenovo line is the L series. Constantly with disgusting screens. And at an idiotic price.

So many serious issues with the E series and plenty of folks have bought them because no other thinkpads of similar size get you 2 NVMes. It seems like a form of customer mockery to only have a feature they need in the worst more unreliable version of your product.

I have no problems with mine. Maybe you got a skill issue or something!

The ThinkPad E series may be the bottom of the barrel for the ThinkPad line, but that does not make them bad machines. For the newest version, Lenovo is returning the line back to fully upgradable RAM with two SO-DIMM slots.
