Accessibility over performance for me.  Plus your wrong not all console exclusives come to pc...(ding ding) Nintendo ? Not 1 exclusive comes to pc (unless you consider roms/emulation). Which ...well considering how well nintendo has cracked down on emulation...looks like there is little else to go for nintendo exclusives BESIDES their dedicated hardware.  And i dont like emulation or care to learn about it.

.....

TLDR cool story bro...since when PCs are for multiplayer games only ??? i thought it can play all games ..and what drivers issues aint most modern OS handles that automatically??

No point in purchasing consoles because you can easily upgrade graphics card on a pc, and games usually have much better graphics setting on pc. Graphics card is always getting better, but consoles are stuck with whatever you get. Games for consoles have to adjust graphics settings according to the consoles which isn't always a good thing.

Nor do i like any type of online gaming..gaming for me is not a social activity its quite the opposite its a solo/offline experience, i only like single player/narrative driven/experiences.  So...free online gaming on pc is not something that entices me.

And i hate sitting at a desktop fixed location w keyboard n mouse, give me a dedicated handheld while laying in bed relaxing anyday of the week.  I want as simplified/streamlined of a gaming experience as a possible.

A handheld in tabletop mode w pro wireless  controller, press 1 button launch the Nintendo Switch out of sleep mode, click game icon, launch game.  Done

No windows, blue screens, cable management systems, verification icons; backround task.exe, popups, and tons of other processes going on w a PC.

Sure pcs will always be relevant and if you enjoy competitive or any type of multiplayer gaming or streaming then PC obviously is the way to go you have more customization options, top tier performance, etc.  But when ppl compare pc to console (or handhelds or mobile) its weird pc vs console argument (the endless debate among online autistic edgelords) makes no sense. Why WOULD a machine only built to run games (sole focus) need to be as powerful as a desktop PC that cost 3x or 2x the price ? And pc's also have to run ALOT more executables/backround tasks, files, security software, etc, etc...so of COURSE a PC is / should be substantially more powerful.

I would hope a $1,600 custom built desktop built for modern performance multiplayer intensive gaming an streaming/multi tasking would be spec wise more powerful then a accessible $400-$500 console that you just plug into wall, plus into hdmi outlet on your 65" smart tv an turn on via controller an update an boom ready to go.

Now sure consoles can run twitch an youtube and has movies via things like vudu an netflix apps...but all smart devices have those nowadays.  But mostly a console or handheld is strictly for gaming and (usually) not intensive or competitive...this is why any pro gamer is gonna have a pc or game tournaments mostly are pcs with 1ms response time monitors.

I however (just speaking for myself only) dont care about a) the mod scene b) streaming c) multiplayer intensive gaming d) emulation or roms e) specs, performance, intensive/technical stuff.

I dont like keyboard n mouse (yes im aware pcs can have a variation of controllers an control sticks, bluetooth n usb controllers, steering wheels, etc). But again i hate sitting at a desktop.  And laptops arent much better. Handhelds however (like the switch or steam deck oled) are perfect for me.  After all while i dont care about specs they still seem to hold up quite well. I mean that steam deck oled has what..a z1 extreme cpu...(the more expensive model) a 1tb SSD hardrive, oled screen, with VRR (freesync) and HDR compliant...i mean its loaded w options if you had told me just a few years ago i could get 720p/60 fps w HDR on Elden ring on a handheld in 2023 I would of laughed...and now its real.

And the steam deck isnt even the most powerful handheld. Heck Asus had that Rog Ally...that has the z1 extreme, full 1080p screen *full HD* and 120hz refresh.  So clearly theres decent specc'd handheld devices out there...an look at the switch for such an underwhelming system (esp now in 2023 after being on the market for 7 years) look at what theyve been able to get out of that little device with a small nvidia SoC portable (basically 2015 made-for-tablet processor).  140 million units sold...the switch is now the 3rd best selling game device of all time (behind ps2 at 155 million units and nintendo ds ar 154 million units).

And this is a list of dozens of devices both handheld and console over the last 45 years (anything non PC basically) and switch is #3. So it proves ppl like handhelds.. considering 2 out of 3 of the best selling devices in non gaming PCs are nintendo handhelds (DS released in 2003 and switch in 2017 respectively).

And this leads me to my last point (apologies which i should of done in advance for this massive post).  And that is...probably 75% or more of all my gaming...is indie games nowadays...single player (metroidvania, roguelite, platformer, horror/survival) type indie games.

And lets face it..indies + handhelds go together like bread n butter.  Dont know why but they always have..you do not need a massive energy sucking w power strip w RGB lighting, 30 pound desktop tower w monitor w keyboard n mouse w cable management system just to run spelunky 2 or binding of isaac or hollow knight or (what have you)...lol w indie titles majority of them run just fine/very well on any device.. i mean they dont require alot of power.  My phone or calculator could prob run most of the games I play.

So while I have a desktop an fios modem + modern 5g/6g router (mesh network) an a variety of devices (smartphone galaxy s24, few large modern smart tvs in the house, plus the nintendo switch oled, steam deck oled (did i mention i love handhelds) not so much mobile games (cant stand gacha games and f2p) but just dedicated handhelds w some exclusives N loads of indies...will keep me more then occupied.

In a time where smart tvs can run games, handhelds are more powerful then ever, an mobile phones r improving by the year; plus everything is turning digital an cloud gaming is on the horizon and VR gaming has its little niche within the industry (well despite sony recently dropping their support of the psvr2 gg sony) there are more options to game then ever these gaming pc "like" tablets, powerful handhelds, cloud tech improving year over year, an consoles still holding "some" level of relevancy i think theres room enough for all these platforms.

Though there are issues no doubt in the industry (rushed/delayed games, game dev crunch, sexism still rampant in gaming, unfinished/broken releases, corruption in gaming journalism to name a few) theres still new hardware im always looking forward too.  And while i was gonna snag a ps5 up till recently (but just havent gotten around to it last 2+ years) w the announcement of ps5 pro while not official but for all intensive purposes its basically 100% at this point i think ill just wait/hold off a few more months an snag a pro model when it eventually/inevitably launches...i still think theres room for the console.

Also ps (lastly) you mention how many games come to pc an eventually cost $10...sure but w gamepass on xbox or ps plus service on playstation no reason for me to even buy games individually...regardless which device im on...i can just have that service an pay a once a month or once every 3 month fee...an have access to a massive library of titles (long as i have storage enough to) i can DL as many titles i want...some would argue about the titles that is available on those services...

but i think (again just personally speaking) theres plenty of quality titles to keep me interested.  But thats just me. Nothing wrong w pc gaming and im no fanboy of any 1 device or company.. i prefer a variety of devices.  Assuming u can afford several devices (i guess thats my privilege talking) but to me that just seems the way to go: desktop pc, good fios internet w decent wifi setup, several modern smart TVs through house + modern smartphones, + a handheld or 2, and a console or so

Not sure if it's worth buying a console nowadays. All exclusive games come to PC sooner or later and can be bought for like 10$.. Maybe just as a way to play coop games when friends come to your place or when people don't want to mess with windows/drivers.
