The design (like most valve) designs has honking big transformers in the signal path.  Despite claims to the contrary, there really isn't any way to remove things like parasitic capacitance, non linear effects etc. from these components.

Transformers have no place in a properly designed final signal path.  Valve amplifiers might sound "nice" but have huge tonal inaccuracies.  Throwing 100K at the problem doesn't fix the basic physics.

There's a sucker born every minute. Paying $108K for an amplifier is idiotic unless it's 108K yen. I hope the thing is really pretty because this art not science.
