There are 8 billion lemmings on the planet. There will always be 5-10 million of the remnants of the upper "middle class" who will buy absolutely any overpriced nonsense, especially if they are skillfully misled. And LG and similar manufacturers are counting on this audience.

Especially if you are deliberately left with no choice.

In addition, do not forget - the flawed architecture of the x86 memory controller requires increasingly higher frequencies, and not an increase in channel capacity to at least 512 bits and HBM3 memory. Therefore, inserting high-frequency modules into slots is becoming increasingly problematic due to increased interference.

If they solder memory, must then HBM2-3 with a 512-1024 bit bus and a real bandwidth of at least 300GB/s+.

But this is capitalism, right? The main thing is profit, not real and rapid technical progress for masses. If lemmings have been buying the same 128-bit memory controller for 16 years, then why not keep selling it to them and in future? =)

Upsold RAM prices should be compared to prices of RAM on the free market, where 64GB ~€200. Accordingly, some Dells, most Apples and some others have extraordinarily high RAM prices.
