Intel CPUs ar way behind AMD for efficiency and performance, this will give Sony Interactive Entertainment a huge win come late 2026/2027 when PlayStation  6 launches. I hope the PS5 Pro is cancelled and modified a bit more than the launch PS6 in late 2026 no need for PS5 Pro.

If xbox do comes to intel,
There would be three way fight in console market,
Playstation (AMD) vs Xbox (Intel) vs Nintendo (NVIDIA)
It would be pretty fun to see

Quote from: Billy on February 04, 2024, 16:36:11Man, Intel can slurp it.
I will never be a fanboy of any capitalist company, AMD included. They sold us all down the river for a bunch of cryptotards, and I for one will never forget it.
But Intel simply cannot compete in the GPU market (I'd love to be proven wrong but it hasn't happened yet).
According to some of these leaks Xbox will also be coming a generation before the ps6. How will intel last gen compete with amd current gen?

X86-64 is waning?? Since when? Yeah some companies are going to ARM buts ARM just isn't really suitable for gaming lmao, they have advantages over each other but not everyone is going to ARM X86-64 is not going anywhere for a long time lmaooo that was a dumb statement, no where close to waning

MLID is pure trash. I do not understand how anyone with a brain thinks anything he says is true. Him and Gamermeld. They lie for a living.

Arm IS what people are looking at for future consoles. It IS almost there. It is the most programmed for architecture in the world.

X86 is dead. X86-64 is waning. Nvidia used arm for it's CPU needs. So did Nintendo. If these idiots want record sales they'll go Arm when it's time which makes it a when, not an if.

As per intel, yes they are making GPUs to preserve the gamer space in PC and to get into that console loot. But like many things in a company so big it's a** isn't sure what it's mouth ate, it's on the cusp of being too late. A hallmark of Intel as of late. I'd live to see an all intel console. Just because. Too bad it took so long.

AMD does what it's told so they'll find a home in Sony this run. If I were MS I'd go full Intel if they could beat AMD. And as of right now, they'd do it just to get in.

Time will tell. Not MLID or GM. They get paid to test the waters. To literally stir controversy. Pay them no mind.

Click Bait. Intel has nothing to offer.

The biggest problem for hardware in general is that there is no viable alternative to TSMC, then prices are skyrocketing.

I just have to say, I love MLID contradictions. Like he keeps on about how "AMD APU's will save us", "AMD going all APUs, full on aggressively" and "AMD APUs are the future" for mobile even though generation after generation they keep releasing igpu's which are barely faster than the ones on Snapdragon SoCs or Intel even now. He even admits himself AMD playing the long game by not releasing anything super powerful or expensive for consumer hardware. Then there's a clear conflict of interest too. AMD, Sony and Microsoft - don't want a consumer x86 APU to be too powerful on the pc market as they want people to buy their consoles. Lastly, they haven't been able to meet mobile APU demand even before Intel started using TSMC fabs. Now that MTL is using TSMC capacity for their graphics, SoC and I/O tiles - how do you reckon AMD will manage to meet APU demand now?

"B-but Strix will save us." Lmfao. How exactly, knowing all of the above is true?

Quote from: Sw on February 03, 2024, 23:07:44Why wouldn't they be looking at arm? Both Qualcomm and apples M1 outperform both and and Intel.

In performance per watt, yes, in general raw performance, no. Probably in the not too distant future you may have a chip that's all around the fastest I the world based on ARM. We are not there yet.

The problem with ARM is, well, because it is ARM, the architecture itself. For the most part of console gen on gen, they almost never rebuild their firmware for new gen, but transitioning architecture means that almost all of the old stuff gets thrown out of the window.

Quote from: kek on February 03, 2024, 17:59:08If we are really honest, AMD has left a lot to be desired on consoles...

I know they arent laptop APUs, but you would expect better from the people being hailed as having the upper hand at "efficiency-per-watt".

But then, you look at the PS5, and that concept goes out the window. Xbox Series S does keep it, tho, so its not all AMD's fault.

Being honest, Nvidia might be the one who might bag themselves something. Intel might get in only if they provide a custom CPU.
I'm pretty sure Intel and Nvidia just inked a foundry deal for their next line of gpu's.. I'm betting intel will drop their Arch line for the opportunity to lock Nvidia Boot.

It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft has dumped AMD for Intel on the Xbox. The previous time was particularly insulting, AMD had been working with Microsoft on the design of the original Xbox running with an AMD Athlon. At literally the last moment, right at the Xbox reveal, Microsoft announced to the audience that the Xbox would be running an Intel CPU. The AMD engineers that helped design it were even in the audience, and the demo was run on their hardware with an AMD Athlon. That had to be particularly insulting.

Aren't intel gpus trash? Efficiency and performance-wise.
